2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Release Date, Price – After introducing the current generation Silverado in 2024, Chevy has made only minor changes to the vehicle’s appearance. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a carryover vehicle that adds a flexible Multi-Flex tailgate and 20-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with high-gloss black accents to its standard features. Basic Work Truck and LT trims have the Regular Cab option with a bed that is 98.25 inches long and 83.5 cubic feet of space.
The WT and LT models of the 2024 Silverado 2500 HD WT with the regular 6.6-liter V8 and RWD configuration start at $35,300 and $39,400, respectively, on the MSRP. With heavy-duty pickup trucks like the Ford F250 Superduty, the RAM 2500, and the GMC Sierra 2500HD, the Chevy 2500HD is no slouch.

However, the aggressive front fascia of the Silverado will appeal to those who seek an intimidating vehicle. With a vast horizontal bar running the length of the grille, the manufacturer’s name is engraved on either side. The grille design varies with each trim level, but only on the most expensive High Country model does the iconic Chevrolet golden bow-tie show up. There are halogen grille-mounted lights on the lower trims, but they’re all LED from the LTZ and above. Regular, Double, and Crew Cab models are offered, and two-bed lengths: standard and extended. Wheels come in various sizes, with 17-inch wheels as standard and 18- and 20-inch options available.
The RC has a 141.55-inch wheelbase, but other models have shorter or longer wheelbases. RC versions have a 235.5-inch wheelbase, while the Double Cab (DC) may range from 240.45 to 256.5 inches in length depending on the bed style (standard or extended), and Crew Cab (CC) models have a wheelbase ranging from 249.95 to 266 inches in total length. The DC has a wheelbase of either 149.4 or 162.48 inches, while the CC has a wheelbase of either 158.94 or 172 inches. There is a slight variation in size between 79.65 and 79.95 inches in height across the spectrum. It’s around 81.85 inches wide, with a few microns of variation among trim levels. Curb weight varies widely due to the wide variety of body types. Weights range from 5,914 pounds for the base Regular Cab to 6,950 pounds for the top-of-the-line Crew Cab with an extended bed.
The inside of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Regular Cab is relatively simple, but the general quality of materials may feel a little lower than that of its competitors. This is evident in the tactile buttons and knobs that make it exceedingly simple to activate features in the minimalist design. Three people may sit comfortably in the front row bench seats, while the crew and double cabs offer additional seating. Fabric upholstery and 4-way adjustable front seats are standard on WT and LT variants. The 82.3-inch regular bed and the 98.3-inch long bed are also offered.
Due to the limited number of rows of seats, the pickup truck’s payload capacity determines how much stuff it can hold. The Silverado comes out on top with 3986 pounds in terms of maximum towing capacity, followed by the GMC Sierra, which falls short by around 140 pounds. At 66.7 inches wide, the Ford F-250 Super Duty is the most significant pickup truck. Even though the RAM 2500 has the least amount of room compared to its more roomy rivals on this list, it is still enough for tall adults to use.
Every Silverado 2500HD comes standard with a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine and a six-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission. An all-wheel drive is available on all trims, although the base engine produces only 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. Only the Ford 7.3-liter with 475 lb-ft. Of torque can compete with Chevy’s tremendous torque without needing a diesel engine.
Gas-powered Silverados can haul, but they aren’t fast around town, even when fully loaded. Only try highway passing if it is required. This year’s 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel engine produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque, and it is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The pickup won’t be very swift, even with this much available torque.
